I just returned from a 9 days' trip to Yunnan, China. The trip was great, but not the food! In fact, none of my previous China trips had food that satisfied me. For some of my readers who don't know, I grew up in Hong Kong which has the best Chinese food. Cantonese food is... Continue Reading →

This is “My Glass of Elelweiss Beer – Mine!”
I never like beer. I don’t like its bitterness. But this was mine, my glass of beer that I liked.

The Iconic San Francisco Palace Hotel
The Palace Hotel located at 2, New Montgomery Street in downtown San Francisco, has been my favorite place to entertain friends and family who come to visit San Francisco. The Garden Court with its stained glass dome, is spectacular. The guests that I treated here were all very impressed, not only by the beauty of the hotel and the restaurant, but by the historic tour conducted by the volunteers of the San Francisco City Guides, a program of the San Francisco Library. http://www.sfcityguides.org/
I am posting a few pictures here to share with you. Below is a link to the historic photos of this hotel. You may like to compare the then and now.
